Never Be A Mama.
Iron County, 2006. 24 x 18 in, acrylic on canvas. This three year old
female gray wolf was shot on the opening day of deer season, 2006. She
was shot because she got too close to a 79-year-old hunter's deer bait.
The COs trailed her blood from the kill site to where she was hit.
Evidence showed the shooter had hurriedly packed up a portable blind
and moved, but by canvassing the woods the officers found the man about
a mile away and got a confession.
