La Roche Vert (French, the green rock). Keeweenaw County, 2006. 40 x 34 in, acrylic on canvas. The thing about hiking is not focusing on getting from point A to B, but moseying along and using your eyes to actually see. These rocks and piece of driftwood were in about two feet of water off Hunter’s Point, near Copper Harbor. If you’ve never walked out to Hunter’s Point, give it a try. Fresh air, big water, no crowds, beautiful.
