Fox hat, down coat, insulated boots,
Frozen breath-bolts hang in bluebird sky,
Beside the post office red rose buds,
Small surprise by a city sidewalk,
Defying probability odds,
Walking to Theos to break our fast,
The flower reminds me of the need
For resolve in the long swim upstream,
Chasing dreams an unrelenting slog.
